Merced River, Spring, Yosemite National Park

Merced River, Spring, Yosemite National Park

I visited Yosemite Valley back in April with family, which included the moderate but enjoyable hike that loops through Tenaya Canyon. The trail starts out the same as the familiar trailhead for Mirror Lake, but continues further up Tenaya Canyon - below Half Dome, across the debris of the Ahwiyah Point rockfall (which closed the trail a few years back), across Tenaya Creek, past the Snow Creek trail, and eventually back to Mirror Lake. It's a pleasant and easy walk that we did back in winter as well. As we were almost back at Mirror Lake I happily spotted these budding trees catching the light against a relatively dark backdrop of the granite walls across the canyon.

This was a trip to share the Yosemite experience with family, more so than a photo-making trip, but I felt this one was worth sharing.
